HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT VISA REQUIREMENTS?

We can assist in getting started with any VISA requirements and the documents you may need to provide. Planning ahead is key, so once you have an idea of where you'd like to go, get in touch and we'll get started.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

This is a personal choice but should not be taken lightly. Consider where you'll be travelling and what the medical services there may be like. In our opinion, it's better to be safe than sorry. However, some credit card plans offer built-in insurance, so check with your provider to see if you already qualify.

FAQs Canadian Travel for Canadians

CAN FAQ

DO I NEED A PASSPORT OR ID TO TRAVEL WITHIN CANADA?

If you're flying within Canada, you’ll need valid government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license or health card). For road trips or train travel, ID isn’t always required—but it’s smart to have it with you.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE WHILE TRAVELING WITHIN CANADA?

Insurance is still a consideration, even at home. This helps you cover the unexpected like trip cancellations, lost baggage, or medical coverage if you're outside your home province. Not all provincial health plans cover out-of-province expenses, so check in with us to be sure.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO TRAVEL BETWEEN PROVINCES - DRIVE, FLY, OR TRAIN?

It depends on your time and budget.

  • Flying is best for long distances (like Toronto to Vancouver).

  • Driving gives you ultimate freedom and scenic routes (hello, Cabot Trail or Icefields Parkway!).

  • Via Rail offers a relaxing, scenic ride between major cities and across the country.

ARE NATIONAL PARKS FREE FOR CANADIANS?

Not always. You’ll need a Parks Canada Discovery Pass or daily entry fee for most national parks and historic sites. But there are free days throughout the year, so keep an eye out for those or check in with us if you need a quick update.
